CPAP compliance data is currently sent to the cloud by CPAP machines to separate databases maintained by CPAP manufacturers. Actionable data needs multiple clicks and many windows. There is not 1 uniform way to either display data or create rules. Billing for Remote Patient Monitoring is slow and cumbersome. This wastes valuable physician time.
SleepCCM offers a simple dashboard displaying data from diverse CPAP manufacturers. The dashboard is easy to read. Actionable data affecting clinical care and outcomes is displayed in a color-coded, easy to read format. Mouse clicks and user fatigue is minimized.
Once a sleep medicine physician has reviewed relevant data, they are able to send bills directly to AthenaNet from within our dashboard. We only send the CPT 99457 code with a short claim note detailing clinical findings.
The key stakeholders are: 1) Patients: Patients appreciate SleepCCM because it gives them confidence that their CPAP use is monitored by a qualified sleep professional. They get feedback from their sleep doctor’s office monthly. This bridges the care gap that currently exists for Medicare patients given that the CPAP itself is furnished by an outside DME entity and these patients are customarily seen in office once annually.
2) Sleep medicine physicians and practices Sleep practices bring patients into the office for very frequent, often unnecessary appointments to check their CPAP data. There is currently not a way for sleep physicians to be compensated for their time reviewing CPAP compliance data. With SleepCCM they provide the high-quality care they would like to and be compensated for their time.
Practice revenues are increased from a) RPM codes, b) Increase in CPAP titration studies for the patients who are failing CPAP at home since SleepCCM flags them early c) Improved patient experience drives loyalty.
3) DME companies. Sleep practices are mandated to send patients out to DMEs by the Stark Law (preventing self-referral). Falling reimbursements has led to lower margins. CPAP non-compliance hurts DME reimbursements further.
Providers using SleepCCM have better CPAP compliance. This results in better reimbursements for the DME over the long term.
