Our eConsult platform provides secure, HIPAA compliant, provider-to-provider communication with access to board-certified specialists covering >70 specialty areas. Specialists respond within hours, often within 4, guaranteed within 24 hours.
Why eConsults improve access?
• eConsults provide access to specialty care, virtually, by connecting PCPs with hundreds of on-demand board-certified specialists. • eConsults solve inherent issues within curbside consults, common across medical practices, by creating a secure and documented system that does not cause schedule disruption of traditional curbside consultations. • eConsults effectively triage referrals so that patients get the care they need in the most appropriate setting.
What is the eConsult workflow?
The AristaMD eConsult platform provides:
• Replacement of unnecessary specialist visits, allowing PCPs more patient care oversight. • Interim care planning advice while patients wait to be seen by a specialist. • Non-emergent EKG review. • Validation of treatment plan. • Validation of need to refer the patient. • Treatment questions or medication. • Regimen confirmation. • Specialized recommended workups for more than 400 common conditions.
What to refer to an eConsult?
Routing clinical referrals (non-procedural or non-urgent) can often be treated within primary care by receiving specialist guidance via eConsult. In fact, AristaMD has found that over 70% of eConsults submitted for routine clinical referrals replace face-to-face specialist visits. In addition, even eConsult guidance doesn’t replace a visit, interim workup and diagnostic and treatment guidance can be invaluable to patients–avoiding unnecessary additional specialist visits, diagnostics, and out-of-pocket costs. An added benefit of eConsults is that providers can request an eConsult while processing a specialist referral. PCPs can then decide whether the face-to-face visit is necessary once they receive their eConsult response. There are many instances when patients do need to see a specialist in-person, and AristaMD agrees our PCPs know best.
